Biomass projects use wood and other plant matter as fuel. The firm assisted KODA Energy, a joint venture of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and Rahr Malting Company, with its 24 MW co-generation facility, and the municipalities of Hibbing and Virginia in conversion of 35 MW of coal facilities to biomass fuels. Projects in Michigan and Hawaii are under way.
